Liberia: Lawmaker Foresees Another Problem in Liberia If...

Montserrado County District #6 Representative, Edwin Melvin Snowe, has predicted that if Liberians do not handle land issues in the country with much care, Liberia may soon be engulfed with another national problem. Rep. Snowe's assertions come on the heels of escalating land dispute in Montserrado District # 6, ELWA, Robertsfield Highway Community, from where reports indicate that several community dwellers Tuesday, 7 May 2013, rioted against a Supreme Court ruling, ordering the community dwellers' eviction from their premises covering a 120 acres land area being claimed by the Copper's family.

Speaking Wednesday, 8 May 2013, when he appeared as guest on the state radio run radio and TV morning magazine, Super Morning Show (SMS), the Montserrado County lawmaker, who fell short of stating the exact problem the country risks sliding into due to land matters, indicated: "The land issue in this country is very sensitive, and if we are not very careful as a people and as a nation, the possibility of us having problem in the not too distance future because of land is highly likely."
