Singer Amileena has proved that every track she adds her voice to turns to gold. The former Tusker Project fame singer told Word Is that her first audience comprised of joggers on a morning run who got derailed by her singing in the shower.
Amileena said, "Like every born musicians when it is in your heart, you sing everywhere and anywhere. But the best place to sing and rehearse is in your bathroom, when the shower is running and it is hot and steamy and your vocal cords are nicely lined by the heat from the steam. You hit some really high notes. I did not care what hour it was, midnight, 7 am, whatever. "
She continued, "I used to have the joggers of the neighborhood, standing just outside the bathroom, when I have just finished a note, I could hear applause. Then I realised that people were listening and they were my first audience."
"Since then, I would go out and the people of the neighborhood would be like 'You have such a good voice' then I realize that, "Huh you are part of the joggers club that come to listen to me sing at about 7:15am.' I would come out of the bathroom and think 'Y'all is crazy. Why are you standing outside my door and listening to me in the shower' then I would ask myself 'Amileena why are you singing in the shower?'"
Amileena is currently working on her debut album after the success of her singles like Why, Shine and Let Them Say featuring Dan 'Chizi' Aceda.
