Eritrea: Keren Residents Finalize Preparations for Independence Day Observances

Keren — The national holidays coordinating committee in Keren city indicated that the residents have finalized preparations for Independence Day observances.

Mr. Woldegiorgis Chini'e, chairman of the committee, disclosed that the reparations pertain to sports contests, cultural activities, environmental hygiene and embellishment of streets, besides a parade by workers and inhabitants, as well as carnival show of institutions. Moreover, he pointed out that community-based banquets would be conducted next week, and lauded the active participation of the residents and business owners in the embellishment of the city.

One of the youths of the city, Tomas Yibetit said that such colorful celebrations attest to the way nationals deeply cherish the momentous Day.

Meanwhile, similar activities have been accomplished with a view to marking the 22nd Independence Day anniversary in Ginda and Dekemhare urban centers.
