Nigeria: NEMA Faults Media Report Over Fleeing 6,000 Nigerians to Niger

The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Muhammed Sani Sidi, has faulted a media report in a national newspaper that 6,000 Nigerians have fled the country into the Republic of Niger, saying that the report was unfounded and not true.

Sani Sidi, whlie briefing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, said series of enquiries on the status of those Nigerians who were said to have crossed the Nigerian border into the Republic of Niger in an attempt to flee from the operations of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Borno State could not be verified.
