Gambia: Where Are Ex AG Jobarteh and Ex SG Jammeh

Following the removal of the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Mr. Lamin Jobarteh and Pa Harry Jammeh, the former Solicitor General from their various positions, Foroyaa has learned from reliable sources that they were arrested and detained.

This reporter stood at the High court throughout yesterday 27th May to monitor if the two persons would be arraigned in court after more than 72 hours of detention but to no avail. Furthermore indications from family sources are that the two are yet to be released. Editor's Note Section 19 of the Constitution states that no one should be detained for over 72 hours without appearing in court or be granted police bail. Foroyaa will be searching for the two family men and will report our findings accordingly.
