Dodoma — TANZANIA envisages increasing rice production up to three million tonnes for export to the East African market, the National Assembly was told here.
The Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Food Cooperatives, Adam Malima, said that at the moment the country's capacity is to produce 1,200,000 tonnes of which 300,000 was for export and the remaining is sold in the local market.
