Eritrea: Adi-Gombolo Inhabitants Prepare Farmland On the Basis of Popular Undertaking

Asmara — The inhabitants of Adi-Gombolo village, Gala-Nefhi sub-zone, prepared farmland on the basis of popular undertaking involving more than 300 oxen as the onset of the rainy season is expected shortly. They further indicated that tilling land plots in such an integrated manner has an advantage as regards ensuring timelines in the process of cultivation.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Zemui Abraham, Mr. Jemal Mohammed, Ms. Desta Gebreab and Ms. Genet Gebrai explained that the experience the community has acquired regarding soil and water conservation has made remarkable impact in raising plant production output. They further expressed satisfaction with the undertaking in which significant spirit of synergism was witnessed.

Mr. Berhe Woldetinsae, village Administrator, disclosed that over 40 hectares was tilled through the community venture, besides the construction of around 15 Km-long terraces. He also commended the active participation of the inhabitants.
