African Countries Vow to Make Voice Heard in Post-2015 Development Agenda

Yokohama, Japan — Delegates at an African development conference vowed Monday their efforts toward making African voice heard in the Post-2015 Development Agenda in the Japanese port city of Yokohama.

In the Yokohama Declaration 2013 adopted at the closing of the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V), participants stressed the importance of achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Africa by 2015 and pledged to ensure that "Africa's concerns and priorities are reflected to the maximum extent possible" in the post-2015 development agenda.
