Photo: Lefty Shivambu/Gallo Images-Stanbic Two sons of Ghana's football legend,Abedi Ayew Pele, who quit the national football team in a row with Ghana Football Association (GFA), on Tuesday agreed to return to the Black Stars. Their return followed the intervention of Ghana President, John Dramani Mahama.
Andre Dede and Jordan Ayew held talks with President Mahama, who has made himself available to speak with all football stars who left the Black Stars for various reasons.
The two other prominent ones are Michael Essien and Kevin-Prince Boateng. After Tuesday's meeting at the Flagstaff House in Accra, the Ayew brothers, who play professional football in France, rescinded their decision to quit international football.
"We are back to do everything we can and let Ghana get to the World Cup," Andre Dede was quoted as telling the president, who asked them to communicate their decision to the GFA.
The two announced an end to playing for the Black Stars after they were excluded from the Ghana team to 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
While Jordan was not invited for the competition, Andre did not report in time for the team's camping in Abu Dhabi and was subsequently axed by Coach Kwesi Appiah.
The local media has also reported that Kevin-Prince Boateng was also on the verge of returning to the Black Stars.
