Somalia: Chinese-Djiboutian Delegation Visits Mogadishu Port to Plan Reconstruction

A joint delegation from China and Djibouti arrived in Mogadishu Tuesday (June 11th) to help re-build Mogadishu's port, Kenya's Africa Review reported.

The director of Djibouti's port and several Chinese officials with expertise in infrastructure re-building were part of the delegation.

"The delegation and their Somali companions received reports on the port's functions," said manager of Mogadishu port Abdullahi Ali Nur. "We welcome collaboration with the Djiboutians and the Chinese in the rebuilding of the port. This type of co-operation indicates the gradual development taking place in Somalia."
