Uganda: Nile Gold Searches for Best Band

Thirty-eight years down the road, the band is still growing strong and has become the epitome of live band entertainment in Uganda. Along the way, Afrigo has inspired a number of bands, making Uganda a hive of mushrooming bands. I have attended a number of band performances; some leave you in awe while others sound like Goodlyfe's Weasel, trying to do a ballad.

Nile Breweries, under Nile Gold, has chosen to separate the wheat from the chaff by holding the first of its kind band competition, dubbed Nile Gold Last Band Standing. The competition was launched on Tuesday at The Bay in Luzira, at a mini but well-attended function.
