The Port of Tema, constructed just before independence, at a huge cost to the state, with modern gadgets to ensure the nation's most efficient link by sea to the international community and in the process, yield revenue to the state, is leaking state resources like a sieve.
A tax evasion syndicate, comprising security personnel, customs officials, clearing agents and all officers posted to the port to ensure maximum revenue to the state, are rather milking the country dry.
