Nigeria: N56 Trillion Needed to Bridge Housing Deficit - FMBN

The Ibadan Zone Coordinator, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Yusuf Yinusa, has said that between N42trn and N56trn is needed to bridge the housing deficit in the country, which he put at 16 million units currently.

Similarly, the Abuja Zone Coordinator, FMBN, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, said that the current administration had made reasonable progress in addressing housing problems in the country. He, however, noted that there was the need for Nigerians to be more conscious of mortgage and housing matters. Speaking in Ilorin during a sensitisation programme organised by the bank on Friday, the two officials urged Nigerians to take advantage of the National Housing Fund to own their homes.
