The Voi Wildlife lodge last weekend played host to a cocktail gala dinner for Taita Taveta governor John Mruttu. The dinner saw over 100 guests enjoy the cuisine and scenery. They got to see the famed elephants as they quenched their thirst at the foot of one of the hills in Tsavo East where the hotel is situated.
Mruttu said that there was need for the county to market its tourism industry and realise its full potential.
"We are capable of growing our tourism business through increasing products like availing gemstones at the hotels instead of depending solely on game watching tourism," he said.
Present during the cocktail gala dinner party were deputy governor Mary Ndigha, Voi MP Jonnes Mlolwa and Taita Taveta County assembly speaker Meshack Maghanga.
