Djibouti-Yemen Accords Over Maritime Issues Including Trafficking and Contraband

The Djibouti Government signed several accords with a Yemeni delegation over the weekend, covering maritime issues, illegal weapons, human trafficking and smuggling.

The Yemeni delegation, led by Minister of Interior, Abdul Qader Qahtan, met with President Ismail Omar Guelleh, Interior Minister Hassan Omar Mohamed and police and security officials. The two sides renewed agreements on customs, security and on the strengthening of relations between the two Ministries of Interior. Discussions also covered the formation of a joint committee to address issues of maritime security.
