The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, is bestowed with responsibility of safeguarding public health by ensuring that only the right quality drugs, food and other regulated products are manufactured, imported, exported, advertised, distributed, sold and used in the country.

However, the Agency's role in food regulation appears to have been downplayed overs the years. In this chat with Chioma Obinna, NAFDAC's Director-General, Dr. Paul Orhii,. explains why the Agency is stepping up surveillance on food products.
