Uganda: Cranes to Play Senegal in Morocco

IF there is a development that the Cranes will look to with relief marching into their 2014 World Cup qualifier against Senegal, it's playing the West Africans in Morocco.

The Confederation of African football (CAF) has yet to officially confirm the North African state as the neutral venue for Uganda's fixture against the Lions of Teranga on September 7.

But impeccable sources told Cranes coach Micho Sredejovic on Wednesday night that a decision had been taken to have the game at the hosts of the 2015 Africa Nations Cup.

"I have close contacts that told me so and what is left is to decide whether to play the game at the Stade de Marrakech or in Casablanca," Micho stated yesterday.

If history is anything to go by, then Cranes faithful will prefer Marrakech -a venue Cranes are familiar with following their impressive run in the LG Cup in November 2011. Then, the Cranes shocked the hosts in a 1-0 win before finishing second to eventual champions Cameroon.
