Africa: NUJ, Friends Honour Garba Over Emergence As FAJ President

Mohammed Garba, president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has added another feather to his two previous ones. Apart from being the president of the West African Journalists Association (WAJA), he has also emerged president of the Federation of African Journalists (FAJ) in a keenly contested election in Morocco, putting Nigeria on the forefront of African journalism.

President Goodluck Jonatha, through his special adviser on documentation, during a dinner organised in his honour at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, sent his goodwill message applauding the giant strides made by the union under the leadership of the FAJ president. He expressed optimism that the leadership style of Garba would further enhance the prospects of the union.
