Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to form closer bilateral ties with Burundi to promote peace and security in the region, especially Somalia, the government announced Monday (July 1st).
Kenyatta praised Burundi for contributing forces to African Union Mission in Somalia during Burundi's 51st independence anniversary cerebrations in Bujumbura, according to a press release.
He pledged to strengthen co-operation with the country through the East African Community, and said people in the region must embrace peace and unity at all times to achieve meaningful development.
