Nigeria: '5,000 Lives Lost to Road Accidents Annually'

About 5,000 lives are lost to road accidents annually, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has said.

The figure which was made known by the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Plateau State, Badamasi Saeedu, at a pre-Ramadan symposium for Muslims aid groups, said road traffic control data for 2011 and 2012 showed a total of 142 deaths and 619 injured persons in the state.
