Recently Somalia's state minister Farah Abdiqadir attended a meeting in Addis Ababa addressing the crisis emerging in Kismayu. The meeting was attended by Ahmed Mohamed Islam who claims to be the president of Jubaland state of which the federal government denied to recognize.
However questions have emerged on who Mr. Farah represented in Addis Ababa.
Abdi Bare Yusuf who is an MP said that his colleagues in Parliament observed the constitution and a state minister cannot attend or represent the government on domestic issues such as the Kismayu crisis.
He added that parliamentarians will vote against any agendas agreed in that meeting as the legitimate government representatives were not available during the meeting.
The MP reiterated that Somalia's internal minister was to participate in such domestic meeting and it was unofficial for a state minister to participate in domestic issues without the government's knowledge.
Farah Abdiqadir has become the media's spot light as he has developed extraordinary powers in Villa Somalia following previous accusations.
Shabelle media station has been monitoring the movement of the minister for the past months and we have confirmed that the minister is working on a proposed cabinet reshuffle which is legally done and assigned to the prime minister of the federal republic of Somalia.
Finally Mr. Farah's powers are based on the fact that he is a member of Dam Jadid ruling part and he takes advantage of the situation knowing that the president will defend him.
