Nigeria: Court Orders Akingbola to Pay Access Bank N212.2 Billion

Justice Adedayo Abisola Oyebanji of the Lagos High Court, sitting in Igbosere, Thursday ordered a former Managing Director of the defunct Intercontinental Bank Plc. Mr. Erastus Akingbola, to pay Access Bank Plc N212.2 billion.

Ruling on an ex-parte application filed by Access Bank, seeking to register the judgment of Mr. Justice Burton of the High Court of Justice, Queen Bench Division, London against Akingbola, the judge equally ordered the registration of the judgment as a judgment of the Lagos High Court.
