Makurdi — Contrary to speculation by members of the public, Genetically Modified crops are not harmful to human consumption according to Dr Lucky Omoigui, a Plant Breeder and Molecular Geneticist at the College of Agronomy of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi Benue state. He said in this interview that cowpea can be intercropped with other crops. Excerpts:
