Tunisia: NCA President Urges Dialogue to Avoid Bloodshed

Bardo — President of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Mustapha Ben Jaafar urged dialogue and peaceful expression in Egypt to avoid bloodshed.

It is crucial that the will of Egyptian people takes shape as soon as possible with the holding of free elections, spokesperson for the NCA President told TAP on Thursday.

Ben Jaafar deems "of paramount importance in such decisive moments that the Egyptian people have the last word, avoid bloodshed and resort to dialogue and peaceful expression to seek a way out of this difficult stage," he said.

"In Tunisia, it is more than ever time for consensus," Ben Jaafar was also quoted as saying.

The NCA President called upon "all political forces and the lifeblood of the country to reach out for a broad consensus so as to carry through this transitional phase under the best conditions and establish permanent democratic institutions," he added.
