Liberia: Rights Group Defends Finance Minister

A consortium of Rights Group in Liberia has defended the credentials of Finance Minister Amara Konneh in the alleged misapplication of EU$13 million provided by the European Union (EU) to the government and people of Liberia following the conclusion of investigation. The group said in a statement issued yesterday that its findings showed no sign of foul play and even questioned the credibility of the story carried in Front Page Newspaper.

The group in the statement said their findings concluded that Front Page Africa or his boss, Rodney Sieh, should have applied "the accurate, balanced and credible method" enshrined as a standard tool used internationally.
