The Armed Forces warned against any provocative acts or clashes with peaceful protesters, asserting that violators will be firmly and decisively dealt with in line with the law.

In a statement on Friday 05/07/2013, the army vowed to protect peaceful protesters within its national responsibility towards Egypt's people.

The army urged all Egyptians not to be deceived by lies and rumors attributed to unidentified sources which seek to fuel tension among people.

The army also denied reports that it called on people not to take to streets to facilitate the work of the Armed Forces.

The right to peaceful protest and freedom of expression is a right ensured for all citizens, it asserted.
