Sudan: Rainfalls Kill Two, Destroy 27 Houses in Central Darfur

Nertiti — Two brothers were killed and 27 houses were destroyed as a result of heavy rainfalls on Friday and Saturday in Nertiti camp, Central Darfur.

A sheikh told Radio Dabanga that particularly the southern and northern parts of the site were affected. Many families are now living in harsh conditions, without shelter, covers or food, the sheikh told Radio Dabanga.

He appealed to authorities and humanitarian organisations to expedite the provision of aid and medicine to the affected people, "especially as they are facing the rainy season."
