Maputo — The event took place in Maputo on July 4, 2013 and was launched by the Vice-President of the CTA, Agostinho Vuma, with a representative of the Mauritian Embassy in Mozambique, the manager of Enterprise Mauritius and a representative of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Mozambique.
In his speech the representative of Mauritius invited Mauritian entrepreneurs to invest in Mozambique, a country that is experiencing economic growth of 7% on average despite the context of international economic crisis and with new opportunities with the recent discoveries of mines coal and gas deposits.
The Vice-President of CTA, Agostinho Vuma, presented the strategic position of Mozambique in the SADC region, the context of economic growth and expansion and the efforts made by the government to encourage, facilitate and promote foreign investment in the country.
After the opening ceremony, the delegation, led by the Director of Enterprise Mauritius, visited all the stands presented by the Mauritian entrepreneurs including those of two success stories of Mauritius implementation in Mozambique: Mauritius Commercial Bank in the field of finance and Blue Sky in the field of tourism, which subsequently presented their experience.
The exponents presented their products in the fields of textiles and clothing, agro-industry and agriculture, soft engineering, paint, chemicals and fertilizers, crafts, banking and tourism.
