Ethiopia: Council Elects Diriba Kuma Addis Ababa Mayor

The new Addis Ababa City Administration Council on its first assembly Tuesday elected Diriba Kuma mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration.

Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the outgoing Council Dr. Tabor Gebremedin and Woldegebriel Abreha respectively elected again to continue in their position.

Diriba received the key of the Addis Ababa City from the outgoing mayor Kuma Demeksa and sworn in with the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Diriba was serving as Minister of Transport before being elected as mayor of Addis Ababa.

The Council also decided that Deputy mayor of the City, Abate Sitotaw would continue in his position.
