Egypt: 2 Killed, 6 Injured in Attack On Security Checkpoint in Central Sinai

Two persons were killed and six others injured in an attack on a security checkpoint in central Sinai late Tuesday 9/7/2013.

Security sources and eyewitnesses said gunmen using RPGs opened fire at the checkpoint hitting a truck loaded with bricks that overturned and spilled its load in the checkpoint.

The attack left two civilians dead and six others, including security personnel injured, the sources added.

The injured and dead were moved to El Arish General Hospital, Nakhl Central Hospital and Suez General Hospital.
