Namibia: Promises of Best Ever Sarpcco Games

Windhoek — Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 8th edition of the Southern Africa Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) Games, Commissioner Des Shilunga has assured SARPCCO member countries that Namibia is well prepared and ready to host one of the best SARPCCO Games ever.

Speaking on behalf of Inspector-General Sebastian Ndeitunga during the official opening of the SARPCCO Games 3rd administrative committee meeting at the Safari Court Hotel yesterday in the capital, Shilunga informed those in attendance that the meeting will present members a chance to collectively make all necessary preparations and ensure that a conductive environment is created for all athletes to perform optimally.

" Namibia wishes to assure member countries that the 8th edition of the SARPCCO Games will be held in the spirit of sportsmanship, good organisation and fair play. The host country through the local organising committee have been hard at work ensuring that all necessary preparations are put in place leading to the official opening of the games," said Shilunga

" Some notable accomplishments achieved in the preparations are training venues, accommodation for athletes and officials, transport, meals and catering, and medics to mention but a few. I'm however optimistic that during the proceedings of this meeting, and after having has the opportunity to assess the preparations of Namibia thus far, we will collectively offer workable solutions and inputs as to how matters can be suitably arranged," added Shilunga.

Head of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) delegation, Roger Nsinga, emphasized the importance of member countries supporting each other in events of such magnitude, saying hosting big events such as the SARPCCO Games is not an easy task as there are many challenges but was hopeful Namibia would host one of the best games.
