Liberia: Former NPP Lawmaker, Julius Parker Jailed for Default in U.S.$1.5 Million Loan to Bank

Julius S. Parker, a former lawmaker in Charles Taylor's National Patriotic Party (NPP) government spent Wednesday night behind bars at the Monrovia Central Prison for allegedly failing to pay a debt of US$1 m owed to Global Bank Liberia Limited.

Officers of the Commercial Court at the Temple of Justice arrested the former lawmaker who faces a charge of debt by attachment on Wednesday afternoon.
