Egypt Prosecutor Orders Investigation in Morsi Prison Escape

Egypt's prosecutor-general Hisham Barakat received the case of ousted President Mohamed Mursi's prison escape on Thursday and ordered an investigation in it.

Mursi escaped along with other Islamists during the January 25 revolution that toppled Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

A court ruled in the case last month, but the case was returned to the prosecution for review.

Thirty-five Muslim Brotherhood leaders were summoned for questioning while a committee was formed to investigate the allegations filed against them.
