Somalia: Prime Minister Condemns Attack That Claimed the Lives of Innocent Civilians

His Excellency Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon condemned yesterdays terror attack that targeted AMISOM forces and sent his condolences to the families of the civilians killed during the horrendous incident.

"I condemn the attack in the strongest terms and send my condolences to the families of all the innocent civilians who were killed and wounded," the Prime Minister said. "These acts of terrorism will not derail the progress made in Mogadishu and across Somalia. We - the Somali people and the Somali government - will stand firm."

A car bomber attacked an AMISOM vehicle on the road to the airport, killing and wounding several civilians.

"Once again the enemies of peace show their true colours to the world," said the Prime Minister. "Muslims killing Muslims in the holy month of Ramadan. Our Somali security forces are stepping up operations to prevent such attacks and we will leave no stone unturned to keep our people safe." Said Mr. Shirdon
