Ethiopia: Ethio-Djibouti Bilateral Relations Enhance Economic Growth

Ambassador Suleiman told ENA that the relations between the two countries have been growing in all sectors particularly since Ethiopia began making use of the Port of Djibouti for its import export trade. He said over 90 per cent of Ethiopia's import export trade is made through the Port of Djibouti and this helped maximize the benefits of the two countries.

The existing good neighborliness helped to enhance solidarity between the peoples and governments of the two countries, he said. Ambassador Suleiman also said Ethiopia and Djibouti have a regular discussion forum on issues related to joint border to ensure reliable safety. Ongoing activities would be strengthened to further enhance best practices and intensify people-to-people ties between the two countries, he said.
