The spokesman for the Egyptian Army said that a released video on social networks under the name "Killing of Rafah soldiers" that purportedly shows gunmen opening fire on Egyptian soldiers in Sinai is not true.

In statements to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Ali said that the area that appeared in the video is not an army outpost where the militants carried out the attack against Egyptian soldiers while breaking their fast during last Ramadan.

He added that the place that appeared in the video is not in Egypt at all, noting that it was for a terrorist operation that took place in one of the Arab neighboring countries.

"The Video was edited to show a false operation for the killing of the soldiers", Ali said, adding that such techniques come within the framework of the psychological and media campaign against the Egyptian armed forces.
