Egypt: White House - Us, Saudi Arabia Keen On Maintaining Stability in Egypt

US President Barack Obama telephoned King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia and discussed the developments of Egypt and Syria.

In a statement issued by the White House, the two leaders discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations, issues related to the region and current events in Syria. They expressed their worries about the effect of clashes in Syria on the region. Both sides confirmed the necessity of supporting the opposition.

On the situation in Egypt, both sides stressed their interest in supporting stability in Egypt and transition of power into an elected democratic government.
