Security troops are continuing campaign against tunnels assigned for smuggling fuel to Gaza Strip destroying many pumps which are used in smuggling. Security sources said the troops used sweepers to remove many pumps assigned for pumping the fuel smuggled to Gaza through tunnels adding crackdowns will continue to fill and destroy tunnels and to prohibit smuggling which poses many risks to the Egyptian national security and directly affect citizens' needs in North Sinai.
In a related development, security sources of a sovereign body said security services have managed to pinpoint many criminal hotbeds in Sinai, which contain elements from Gaza and other elements which attack the army and police checking points.
The Armed Forces, in cooperation with the police and special operations men have managed to storm three criminal hotbeds in different parts of Sinai adding these hotbeds in which terrorists were hiding have been destroyed by the aircraft.
The source said a number of terrorists were arrested in these hotbeds adding interrogations are underway with them in a sovereign body.
The sources said these elements are belonging to some movements in Gaza and some Takfiri elements in Sinai adding they were planning to depart for Cairo to undertake terrorist operations against vital facilities .The sources said security bodies have aborted their plans.
