Police in Manyara Region have arrested Bakari Rashid (18) of Maisaka Area in Babati town allegedly for cohabiting with a school girl. According to the Regional Police Commander, Mr. Akili Mpwapwa the suspect, who is a mechanic was arrested on July 1, this year at 05:00 a.m. at his place of work and domicile in Maisaka Area.

The Regional Police Commander said Daniel Tluway, father of the School girl (name withheld), went to the police station and complained that his daughter had been cohabiting with a mechanic.

The police followed up the matter and found the girl in Rashid's room. He was arrested and was expected to be taken to court after completion of police investigation.

Meanwhile, the police in Babati have seized a motorcycle which had been carrying 20-litres of illicit liquor. The motor bike was abandoned in Mamire Village by the rider after encountering patrol policemen. The incident happened on July 2.

Mr. Mpwapwa said that the suspect, who had not been identified, was still at large, but they were keeping the illicit liquor and the motorcycle, with registration number T 847 CCM, as exhibits for the offence.
