Two residents of Bashay Village in Mbulu who were riding a motorcycle have been knocked down by passenger bus plying between Arusha and Haydom. The two died instantly.
Confirming the incident, the Manyara Regional Police Commander, Mr. Akili Mpwapwa said it involved a Scania bus property of Sunvic with registration number T 353 APF. It occurred on July 3, this year at 08:30 a.m. in Bashay Village, Mbulu District.
He mentioned the name of the bus driver as Lucas Thomas (56), resident of Arusha. Those who died in the accident have been identified as Augustino Joseph (30) who was riding motorcycle, with registration number T 384 BLL, and the motorcycle passenger, John Philemon (26).
Mr. Mpwapwa said that the police were continuing with the investigations of the accident. Bodies of the deceased were preserved in the mortuary of the Haydom Lutheran Hospital.

Two children drowned in a stagnant water pool in Arumeru District, Arusha Region on July 1. The Arusha Regional Police Commander, Mr. Liberatus Sabas said the incident occurred in Lengijave Village.
He said on the fateful day, the two children were playing in a water pool but suddenly drowned. He mentioned the names of the children as Baraka Lomani (11) and Gakule Lesikule, both residents of the village.
Mr. Sabas told their parents that they have to ensure the safety of their children while playing. Some of the children had been left their homes to play in pool without any parental supervision, a situation which causes risks.
