Besides symbolizing the unity of Ethiopian nations, nationalities and peoples, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam ensures the mutual interests of neighbouring nations, Speaker of House of Federation, Kassa Tekleberhan said.

In an interview with Ethiopian News Agency, Kassa said the grand project has mobilized the Ethiopian people for a common cause.

It has also created an opportunity for Nile riparian countries to work closely towards equitable use of the Nile waters for mutual benefit, he said.

The Speaker said the government is committed to ensuring the sustainability of such grand projects that guarantee the interests of the Ethiopian people.
