Somalia: Former Somali Leaders Planning to Form an Alliance to Act As Watchdogs to the Gov't

Kampala- — Abdirahman Ma'alim Badiyow who was defeated in last year's presidential elections confirmed with Shabelle radio station that a group of former leaders gathered in Kampala.

Mr.Badiyow said that they (former leaders) went to greet the former president of the transitional gov't Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.

Other sources reveal that the politicians are plotting to form an alliance to act as watch dogs to the federal government of Somalia.

Other politicians include Mohamed Gedi and Ali Qalif Geleyr who both held prime ministerial positions in the former governments.

Mr. Badiyow said that the government has done quite good and will provide guidelines wherever needed.

Several politicians have been holding series of meetings and are believed to be plotting big against the federal government.
