Egypt: FJP Leader - Army Attempts Mediation to End Sit-in, We Won't Negotiate

There are efforts to mediate between the Muslim Brotherhood and the army through former local development minister Mohamed Ali Beshr to end the group's sit-in at Rabaa al-Adaweya Mosque in Cairo, Essam al-Erian, the Freedom and Justice Party's deputy head, said.

The efforts include the attempt to get the Brotherhood to take part in the national reconciliation which Interim President Adli Mansour called for, Erian told Aswat Masriya.

The armed forces still send some prominent political figures for negotiations but the Brotherhood rejects all mediation efforts, he stated.
