Somalia: Kismayu Residents Face Daily Abuses From the Indiscipline Raskamboni Militia and Corrupt Kenyan Peacekeepers

Kismayu- — After the self declaration, he fought of almost four other self declared presidents with the help of the Kenya troops who operate under the name "peacekeeping troops".

Local news outlets in Kismayu and Mogadishu have been receiving numerous cases of rape, murder and other forms of ugly oppressions against the residents of Kismayu by the indiscipline militia of Ahmed Madobe and corrupt Kenyan troops.

Mohamed Muse Ahmed, a Kismayu resident who contacted Shabelle radio station in Mogadishu said that the Kenyan troops and the Raskamboni militia targeted all those who were against Ahmed Madobe.

Mohamed added that those opposing Madobe's rule are identified using their clan or sub clan. If one happens to be from the subclan of the other "presidents" he is likely to be raped, murdered and his propertyconfisticated by the militia group or the Kenyan troops.

Mr. Mohamed finally said that the only tool they have is the media and calls for the federal government and international community to come to their rescue.

Since the liberation of Kismayu from Alshabab, the cities security has been deteriorating steadily. The federal government's presence has been regulated by the Kenyan peacekeepers which favor the Raskambonmi militia who recently clashed with the government troops in Kismayu.

Kenyans direct involvement and support for the Raskamboni militia has caused diplomatic roar between Somalia and Kenya.

Somalia's foreign minister recently wrote a letter to IGAD protesting against Kenyans participation in the war between rival clan militias. The Kenyan troops went ahead and disarmed the government troops who had bases in the city and bombarded residential estates.

The federal government also accused Kenyan troops of hindering the countries peace progress and slowing down of the stabilization plan by directly supporting an anti government elements in Somalia such as the Raskamboni.
