Rwanda: Districts Pool Resources to Buy Fire Engines

After a recent increase in fire outbreaks, mostly in the south, districts have pooled financial resources to purchase fire-fighting equipment and set up brigades to be able to react quickly in case of a blaze, provincial officials announced.

Fires, normally fought by police units, have proved too big an emergency to tackle without proper fire brigades.
