Mali: Defence Headquarters Confirms Request for Troop Withdrawal in Mali Imminent

The Defence Headquarters have confirmed that Nigeria has requested that some of its troops be withdrawn from Malian operations because of the ongoing internal security challenges back home in the country.

This was disclosed Thursday by the Director of Defence Information (DDI), Brig-Gen. Chris Olukolade who said that the troop withdrawal will start any moment but must be in accordance with United Nations' procedure.
