Liberia: Traditional Leaders, Others Urged to Join Fight Against Child Abuse

The Executive Director of Defense For Children International (DCI-Liberia), a child centered organization working here, has urged traditional leaders and law enforcement officers across the country to join the fight against child abuse by ensuring that those who perpetrate violence against children face the full weight of the law.

According to Mr. Foday M. Kawa, the protection of children in post-conflict Liberia is cardinal to recovery, national development and peace. He made these statements recently at the end of a three-day training workshop in Bomi County. The three-day training was held in two villages, namely: Behsao and Beajahas well as Tubmanburg. It was held under the theme: "Enhancing Child Justice in Liberia."
