Kenya: Sossion and Nzili Found Guilty in Contempt of Court Charges

KNUT, its chairman Wilson Sossion and Secretary General Mudzo Nzili have been found guilty of contempt of court charges for failing to call off the teachers strike on the 2nd of July as ordered by the industrial court.

Sossion and Nzili have now been arrested and will be released when they pay a 500,000shilling fine each. Judge Linette Ndolo further ordered KNUT to pay a fine of 5million shillings but failed to fine teachers 10,000 shillings each as requested by the TSC.
