Seventeen people were injured in confrontations that erupted between supporters and opponents of deposed President Mohamed Mursi in Damietta on Monday, an eyewitness told Aswat Masriya.

Mursi's Muslim Brotherhood organized a large march from Musharaf Square to al-Saa Square on Monday which ended in rock-hurling between political rivals.

Ambulances have transferred the wounded to local hospitals to receive medical attention.
