Uganda/Madagascar: CHAN - CAF Appoints Madagascar Officials

THIS weekend's Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier at the Mandela National stadium, Namboole will be handled by Madagascan officials.

The Confederation of African Football has appointed 31 yr old Kanoso Abdoul Ohabee as referee with Pierre Andiravoavonyj and Jinoro Velomanana as his assistants. Bruno Andriamiharisoa will be the fourth official.

Taifa Stars who set camp in Mwanza have vowed to overturn the first leg result.

The Cranes pulled off an away win in Dar es Salaam courtesy of a Denis Iguma goal.

"The team is in high spirits. Fitness levels are also okay," said Tanzania coach Kim Poulsen after a training session at the CCM Kirumba stadium.

"It is a tall order but we believe our players have what it takes to stun the Cranes at their own field," said Tanzania Breweries Lake Zone manager Malaki Sitaki.

Uganda is on the brink of qualifying for a second consecutive CHAN final tournament.

The tournament will be held in South Africa early next year. This will be the third edition of the competition.

The tournament, that was originally supposed to be hosted by Libya, was in 2012 shifted to South Africa after the North African state being thrown into turmoil.

The Cranes will after this weekend's fixture shift their focus to the 2014 World Cup game against Senegal in Morocco.
